Willington – Vehicle Crash Update

Officials just released more info regarding last Tuesday’s vehicle accident in Willington.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Route 74 and Old Farms Road. At around 11:00 a.m., 80-year-old Jean Lagasse of Willington was driving his 2019 Hyundai Sonata on Tolland Turnpike when he drifted onto the opposite lane, crashing into a 2004 Nissan Sentra driven by 57-year-old Amadou Kaba of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Lagasse sustained minor injuries and was taken to Manchester Hospital. LifeStar support was requested for Kaba who sustained critical injuries, but paramedics on-site decided to transport him by ambulance instead. He was eventually pronounced dead at Rockville General Hospital. The incident is currently under active investigation. Updates will be provided when authorities release more info.
