Wethersfield – Rush-Hour Highway Accident
A crash resulted in partial highway closure in Wethersfield yesterday.
The incident occurred on the southbound side of Route 15, about half a mile after Exit 85 (Route 99/Wethersfield Avenue). At approximately 5:22 p.m., emergency crews responded to the area and quickly cordoned off the scene to allow medical personnel to tend to motorists injured in the crash. An investigation was immediately started, while other road crews started cleanup operations. The scene was cleared less than an hour later, though the crash is still under investigation. More information, including the identities of people affected by the incident, will be provided as soon as they become available.
As should always be the case, highway accidents are immediately cordoned off to allow various crews to assist motorists injured or otherwise affected in these scenarios. This will also allow investigators to safely collect evidence that will help them establish liability in all of these incidents. The last point is particularly important because identifying causes/culprits might allow aggrieved parties to file for damages under appropriate circumstances and with the approval of expert legal counsel.
