Wethersfield – Highway Vehicle Accident

State and local officials responded to a highway crash in Wethersfield yesterday.

At approximately 5:57 p.m., authorities were alerted to a crash on the northbound side of I-91 crossing Wethersfield and quickly sent responders to the area. According to reports, an accident involving a still-unspecified number of vehicles occurred about half a mile past Exit 24 (Route 99) and resulted in injuries. Fire and EMS crews arrived at the scene and immediately tended to all motorists involved in the crash, while other crews blocked off the accident scene. It took authorities almost an hour to clear the area of all obstructions. The crash is currently being investigated and officials are asking possible witnesses to contact them and assist with their investigation.
