Westport – Stabbing Incident Update
Authorities just released an update regarding last Monday’s parking lot incident in Westport.
A 33-year-old motorist was inside her vehicle parked in front of 1137 Post Road East when 18-year-old Ellis Tibere opened the driver’s side door. The victim attempted to push Tibere away and was stabbed in the leg several times in the process. Tibere was subsequently arrested by responders and is still under custody. Officials just released an update yesterday. According to available evidence, the victim was not specifically targeted by Tibere and was just randomly spotted by the assailant. A $1 million bond is currently issued against Tibere. Authorities continue to investigate the attack and will release more updates when appropriate.
It can be challenging to establish accountability in cases where ill-intent is not obvious. It’s in these situations where witness reports can help bring responsible parties to justice. Having said that, victims of these unfortunate situations will benefit from having legal experts study their cases and suggest effective courses of action.
