West Hartford – Vehicle Accident On Highway

An accident closed down a portion of the highway in West Hartford yesterday evening.

The crash was first reported at approximately 6:02 p.m. and officials immediately dispatched fire and EMS crews to the westbound side of I-84/Route 6. According to responders, a still unspecified number of vehicles was involved in a crash about a quarter of a mile before Exit 41 (South Main Street). Road crews quickly cordoned off the scene to initiate cleanup operations and an investigation into the cause of the accident. All lanes were cleared about 40 minutes later. Authorities have withheld the identities of motorists involved pending an investigation. More information will be released when appropriate.

Highway accidents have to be processed and cleared quickly to avoid unnecessary delays while still allowing authorities to thoroughly investigate crash culprits/causes. It’s important to take note of this because if any form of negligence is established, injured motorists not responsible for these accidents may have options at their disposal. Consulting legal experts will help them determine their best course of action.
