Waterbury – Fatality After Motorcycle Crash

A motorcyclist was killed in a highway accident in Waterbury last Sunday evening.

At around 7:30 p.m., a motorcycle rider was traveling on I-84, reportedly with another motorcyclist, when the bike swerved off the roadway, crashing into a guardrail east of the Harpers Ferry Road Bridge. The victim died from injuries sustained in the crash. The incident forced officials to close down several lanes immediately after the accident. All lanes have since been cleared. The identity of the rider has yet to be disclosed pending a comprehensive investigation of the incident. Authorities will release updates when appropriate and are asking possible witnesses to contact them as soon as possible.

Many motorcycle accidents result in serious injuries and require thorough investigations because their causes are sometimes not readily apparent. That said, victims of these unfortunate events (or their families) have various legal options at their disposal if ever they are involved in similar situations. Negligent or reckless behavior is particularly noteworthy as it may entitle aggrieved parties to damages/compensation under appropriate circumstances.
