Torrington – Highway Rollover Crash
A section of Route 8 was closed following a crash in Torrington yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to an area just past Exit 44 on Route 8 North and discovered a vehicle on its side on the highway. Injuries were reported and LifeStar support was requested by officials. No word yet on how many motorists were inside the overturned vehicle or if the incident involved other cars. State and local officials were forced to block off the thoroughfare to allow road crews to process the scene. Authorities have yet to identify anyone and will do so, as well as provide other relevant info, when appropriate.
Overturned vehicles frequently cause injuries to motorists and, in some cases, can result from interactions with other vehicles on the road. These factors will be studied when investigating rollover incidents. It’s important to take note of negligence as the discovery of this factor may enable injured parties to pursue legal avenues against responsible individuals. Seeking damages can be a suitable course of action if deemed appropriate by legal experts.
