Enfield – Guilty Verdict In Fatal Incident

A motorist accused of killing a man in a road incident in Enfield was just found guilty.

On December 2, 2016, then 20-year-old Jeremy Mercier was struck and killed by a vehicle in the vicinity of 1443 Enfield Street. The truck, a Chevrolet Silverado, was driven by 21-year-old Rocco Barile. He was immediately apprehended when responders arrived, and several charges were subsequently filed against him after a thorough investigation of the incident. He accepted a plea agreement last September and was found guilty yesterday. Barile is now facing 10 years in prison, to be suspended after 44 months.

Regardless of plea agreements and other circumstances, motorists suspected of negligent behavior will be brought to justice so that our communities can be made safer for both motorists and pedestrians. It’s important to take note of this, as well as the options that victims or their families can pursue when their cases involve DUI, negligence, or reckless behavior.
