Newtown – Highway Truck Crash

A motorist was seriously hurt when his truck crashed on the highway in Newtown early yesterday morning.

The incident occurred a few minutes before 4:00 a.m. on I-84. Fire and EMS crews quickly dispatched to the area and discovered a black GMC pickup truck that had collided with construction equipment on the Exit 11 (Wasserman Way) off-ramp. The vehicle incurred heavy damage in the collision, while the still-unidentified driver sustained serious injuries. The victim was also trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by responding firefighters. The crash is currently under investigation. Updates to this story will be provided as soon as more info becomes available.

Authorities handling this case have yet to collect enough evidence to accurately identify the cause of the crash. Suffice it to say, they will eventually be able to establish accountability so that justice can be appropriately served. Whatever the outcome, if reckless behavior or negligence is discovered, any injured party not responsible for the incident may have the option to seek damages with the help of expert legal counsel.

Newtown – Rollover Crash

An SUV crashed and rolled over in Newtown late Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of 51 The Old Road at approximately 5:41 p.m. According to reports, an SUV was on a curved section of the roadway when it swerved onto the curb, losing control and crashing into a tree, rolling over before coming to a stop. Jake Dandrea and Steven Berard, the driver and passenger in the vehicle, and both 16 years old, were evaluated and treated on-site by EMS responders. The crash was investigated, and Dandrea was eventually issued a ticket for failure to drive to the right.

It’s apparent that the driver involved in this incident exhibited negligent behavior that probably resulted in the crash. It’s important for us to remember that whatever the circumstances of any accident, parties injured due to reckless behavior or negligence can always consult legal experts who can study their cases and determine if certain options related to seeking damages would be available to them.

Stratford – Highway Truck Accident

A truck figured in a crash on the highway in Stratford late yesterday evening.

Authorities were alerted to the incident at around 10:09 p.m. and immediately sent responders to the southbound lanes of I-95. Emergency crews discovered a truck that crashed about a quarter of a mile before Exit 32 (Linden Avenue). The area was immediately cordoned off to allow medical personnel to assist motorists injured in the incident. No word yet on the number of vehicles involved in the crash, but a portion of the highway was blocked due to the accident. It took road crews about 50 minutes to clear the site of all obstructions. The accident is currently under investigation, and officials will release updates when appropriate.

It’s only appropriate for authorities to block off crash sites so that involved/injured parties can be assisted by medical personnel. It also allows investigators to collect evidence that can help officials establish accountability. That last point is particularly beneficial to victims of these incidents because it will allow them, under proper circumstances, to pursue legal options that can help them find closure post-accident.

According to responders, a truck crash occurred almost a mile before Exit 18 (Sherwood Island Connector). More information, including the identities of those involved, will be released when appropriate.

Truck accidents can cause heavy delays and serious injuries in many cases and can be challenging for emergency crews to clear. Fortunately, authorities will always have various resources available to them so that they can effectively respond to this type of accident. It’s imperative that the causes of these incidents are quickly identified so that future crashes can be prevented. These things said, people injured in similar situations should be aware of their legal rights and options. Brooklyn – Fatalities In Midnight Crash

Three teens were involved in a truck accident in Brooklyn early Monday morning.

Authorities were alerted to the incident and, at approximately 12:15 a.m., dispatched firefighters and paramedics to North Society Road near Grass Road. The crash involved a Ford F-150 pickup truck with three occupants. According to initial reports, the truck was traveling north when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck swerved off the roadway, crashing into a guardrail before falling down an embankment. The vehicle also caught fire after coming to a stop. 17-year-old Brenna Ann Larson and 17-year-old Shawnna Wojnowski, both students at Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School in Danielson, sustained critical injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. 17-year-old Ashley Adamo sustained serious injuries and was brought to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Rhode Island. Officials have yet to identify the driver of the vehicle and are currently investigating the incident. A section of North Society Road was blocked off following the crash to allow investigators to collect evidence. This post will be updated as soon as authorities release more information.

Officials have yet to find evidence suggesting that another vehicle was involved in this crash. That said, investigators will consider and study all factors, including possible product defects/vehicle failures, before making any conclusion. Suffice it to say, any form of negligence not associated with any of the victims may allow their families to pursue certain legal options that can help them find closure.

Middletown – Highway Truck Accident

A truck figured in an accident in Middletown yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 4:09 p.m., state and local authorities were alerted to a crash on the southbound lanes of I-91. Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the area and discovered a truck crash about a quarter of a mile before Exit 19 (Baldwin Avenue). No word yet on the number of vehicles and motorists involved in the crash, but injuries were reported and everyone involved has since been tended to by medical personnel. A portion of the southbound side of I-91 was blocked following the incident and was cleared less than two hours later. The crash is currently under investigation. Updates will be provided as soon as authorities release more info.

Truck accidents typically result in heavy delays on major thoroughfares, so processing and clearing these sites can be a challenge for emergency responders. That said, state and local officials would always have the resources to deal with these incidents, and this includes assigning investigators to study and collect evidence. Obviously, culprits must be brought to justice, but victims should also be given ample opportunities to find closure, particularly when they are injured due to reckless or negligent behavior. Legal experts can help aggrieved parties throughout this process.

Derby – Van Crash Update

Officials just released more info regarding last Wednesday’s highway crash in Derby.

A van carrying 10 occupants swerved off the northbound side of Route 8 and crashed into a tree just past Exit 17. Four motorists were trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency responders. Local authorities just released an update regarding the status of all involved parties. According to reports, a total of nine victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of various injuries — none has been listed in critical condition and their identities have yet to be disclosed as of the last update. Officials will continue to investigate this incident and will release more updates when appropriate.

It can be challenging for authorities to establish liability in some cases when causes are not readily apparent. It’s just a matter of time, though, and investigators will eventually gather enough evidence to accurately identify culprits. This is important, not just to bring suspects to justice, but also to allow victims to pursue legal options that can help them find closure.

Accidents due to defective equipment have occurred in the past, so this will also be looked at. Suffice it to say, any form of negligence can enable the family of the victim to pursue legal options that can help them seek justice and find closure.
