38-year-old Gregory Lamourine, Jr. of Enfield was driving his 2005 Chrysler Pacifica eastbound on Route 2 when his vehicle suddenly swerved off the roadway, hitting a guardrail before crashing into several trees near Exit 12. Lamourine, Jr. sustained critical injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead soon after. The accident is still under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them as soon as possible.

A vehicle traveling on the highway crashed into a tree in Marlborough last Saturday morning.

State and local officials responded to reports of a crash on the eastbound side of Route 2 and immediately dispatched fire and EMS crews to the area. Responders discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a utility pole, resulting in injuries. Medical personnel have since attended to everyone affected by the accident — officials have yet to disclose the number of victims. The crash forced the closure of the highway between Exits 10 and 13, and advised motorists to use secondary roads to reach their destinations. The crash is currently under investigation. More updates will be provided as they become available.

There have been instances in the past where vehicles hitting utility poles have resulted in widespread outages to various services. That said, authorities will always work hard to identify the causes of this type of accident so that road safety can be improved for everyone. Establishing accountability can also benefit victims of these incidents as they might have the option of filing for damages if deemed appropriate by legal experts.

Highway accidents tend to result in heavy delays, so authorities have to be commended for their ability to clear these incidents promptly. That said, officials prioritize the safety of motorists in all of these situations, after which they focus their attention on identifying accident causes/culprits. This is important so that future accidents can be avoided, as well as opening up avenues that injured parties can explore with the help of their legal counsel.

Colchester – Man Awarded Damages In Settlement

A man injured in a July 2017 highway incident in Colchester has been awarded $250,000 in damages.

63-year-old Edward Johnson from Norwich was driving his tractor-trailer west on Route 2 crossing Colchester when a 1999 Ford Ranger pickup truck, driven by Brendan Callis, swerved onto Route 2 from an access road, crashing into his truck in the process. Johnson sustained head and neck injuries in the collision. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Callis was cited for reckless driving and was charged with negligence soon after. Johnson continues to experience pain and requires medication to this day, but is satisfied with the settlement as it allows him to find closure after the traumatic event.

This case highlights the processes and legal avenues aggrieved parties can explore if they are injured in any road-related incident that involves reckless or negligent behavior. It’s important to find closure after these unfortunate events. Legal experts can help those in similar situations find it.

Glastonbury – Injuries In Highway Accident

Three people were injured in a highway accident in Glastonbury last Saturday afternoon.

At around 3:30 p.m., authorities responded to reports of an accident on Route 2, in the area of exit 10. A truck traveling on the highway hit a stopped car on the right shoulder, forcing it to move and injuring three West Haven motorists. 70-year-old Emilio Pena and 41-year-old Klever Pena were outside their car and sustained serious injuries, while 65-year-old Sofia Cruz-Sanchez de Pena was inside their vehicle and also sustained injuries in the collision. They were immediately transported by emergency crews to Hartford Hospital for treatment. The driver of the truck; 37-year-old Sergei Barybin, also from West Haven; refused to be treated and stayed at the accident scene. The crash is currently being investigated. Officials are asking anyone with relevant information about the incident to contact them as soon as possible.

Highway accidents frequently result in serious injuries to motorists, so identifying who or what is at fault is a priority for investigators. Once accountability has been established in these cases, those injured can study their options with their legal counsel so that they can determine their best course of action.

At approximately 1:50 p.m., officials received reports of an accident on Route 2, at exit 5D. Emergency crews quickly arrived on-site and discovered a crashed truck. Injuries were reported by authorities, and the westbound side of Route 2 was partially closed as they processed the accident site. Marlborough – Motorcycle Crash Victim Identified

The victim of the motorcycle crash in Marlborough last Monday has been identified.

60-year-old Yvan Soucy of Colchester was the rider of the motorcycle that crashed on Route 2 crossing Marlborough. At around 4:10 p.m., he was traveling east when his motorcycle swerved from its lane and hit a guardrail, throwing Soucy off the bike. He eventually died from injuries sustained in the crash. The accident highlights the challenges of determining the causes of these types of accidents. That said, authorities will eventually identify what caused this incident, and if product defects are discovered, victims (or relatives/family members, in this case) can file for compensation claims.
