A car hit a utility pole last Friday morning in Mansfield, causing a power interruption in the area.
The incident occurred at 2:57 a.m. on Pollack Road. State Police reported that a 2015 Mercedes-Benz SLK 250, driven by a 22-year-old woman, veered to the right shoulder and hit a utility pole. The driver was not injured in the crash. Maintenance workers were immediately called in to fix the damaged electrical equipment, and the road had to be closed for most of that day.
Automobile accidents sometimes cause property damage, and in this case, public services were interrupted temporarily. No one was injured in this incident, fortunately. However, in cases where reckless driving or negligence can be established, injuries sustained by parties involved can be grounds for personal injury claims.
