Two people were arrested following a police chase in Waterbury last Wednesday evening.

At 9:49 p.m., 24-year-old Joseph Ferland was driving an Acura, with 23-year-old Destiny Martinez as his passenger, when they crashed into a police vehicle at the intersection of Walnut and Ives Streets. Instead of stopping, they fled the crash scene, crashing into a parked car and another police vehicle before reaching I-84 East. Police caught up with the suspects before Exit 26 — Ferland crashed his vehicle into a roadside pole. A police officer was injured while apprehending Ferland. He was reportedly elbowed in the face by the suspect. Ferland and Martinez have since been taken into custody and are currently facing multiple charges related to this and prior incidents.

Norwalk – Jail Term For Road-Rage Suspect

A motorist was sentenced to prison in Norwalk last Tuesday.

On October 1, 2016, 50-year-old Steven Valerin was navigating Plymouth Avenue when he entered into an argument with the driver of another vehicle.
