A motorist was shot by a suspect in Bridgeport last Sunday evening.

At approximately 8:40 p.m., authorities received reports of gunfire on Gilman Street and immediately sent officers to the area. The details surrounding this incident seem to point to an issue more complicated than what is now apparent. That said, investigators will exhaust all means to establish accountability in this case. Waterbury – Officer Injured By Motorist

A police officer was seriously hurt while attempting to apprehend a motorist in Waterbury last Saturday.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., officers responded to Richard Terrace after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area. They discovered a driver who was unconscious inside a vehicle. Thinking it was a possible medical emergency, the officers attempted to wake the person. The driver woke up after the doors of his vehicle were opened and started to drive his vehicle. An officer who was standing behind the passenger door was thrown into the vehicle with half of his body hanging out and was dragged by it as the driver attempted to leave the scene. He was eventually thrown off the vehicle as it turned onto Pritchard Road. EMS crews immediately transported the injured officer to the hospital for treatment. After a comprehensive search of the area, 38-year-old Adam Dejesus was arrested and has since been identified as the driver of the vehicle. He is now facing multiple charges related to the incident.

It pays to take note of this and other similar cases because they describe situations that result in injuries to motorists or pedestrians. A motorist was stabbed by a teen that stole his car in Trumbull yesterday.

The incident occurred at the Westfield Trumbull Mall parking area. Earlier that day, a 22-year-old driver reported his vehicle, a 2015 Ford Fusion, stolen near the intersection of Manhattan Avenue and Wayne Street. After reporting the crime, the victim went to Westfield Trumbull Mall upon receiving reports of his credit card (stolen with the car) being used there. New Haven – Motorist Accepts Personal Injury Settlement

A road injury victim just accepted a settlement in New Haven.

Back in 2016, 48-year-old Marie Ann Acurantes was driving her 2016 Jeep on I-91 southbound, just before exit 19, when she was rear-ended by a 2007 Buick LaCrosse CX driven by Jennifer Vitello. Acurantes sustained multiple internal injuries in the collision. Since the incident, she had already incurred more than $90,000 in medical expenses and had lost a job opportunity because of her physical limitations. This recent career setback was the main factor that helped her legal counsel secure the settlement. To this day, she continues to require regular medical treatment. The recent settlement has granted her $365,000.

Motorists injured in road incidents; particularly those that involve negligence, DUI or reckless behavior; have options at their disposal. Under appropriate circumstances, and with the help of expert legal counsel, victims can file for damages/compensation and find closure after these traumatic events.
