Authorities responded to reports of a crash in North Canaan yesterday evening.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., officials dispatched emergency crews to Route 44 (Church Street) after receiving reports of a single-vehicle accident. After arriving at the scene, EMS crews quickly tended to motorists injured in the incident, while other safety crews cordoned off the roadway at its intersection with Reed Street to facilitate cleanup operations. As of posting time, officials have yet to specify the number of people involved in the crash. Updates will be released when appropriate.
Single-vehicle accidents can be the result of factors that are not always immediately apparent, so investigators will always look at all possibilities in establishing accountability in these cases. It pays to take note of this because it can also enable injured parties to file for damages under appropriate circumstances.
