A motorcycle rider was injured in a crash in Montville last Saturday morning.

He sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to the William H. Backus Hospital in Norwich for treatment. Authorities have not discovered evidence suggesting other vehicles were involved in the incident. No word yet on the current status of the victim and the incident is still under investigation. This post will be updated as soon as officials release more info.

Because of this, identifying their causes is of utmost importance if future incidents are to be avoided. Identifying the causes of these accidents can also enable crash victims to pursue various options with their legal counsel. East Lyme – Charges In Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Officials just filed charges against a driver who killed a motorcyclist in East Lyme.

On July 28, 42-year-old Frank A. Barabas, Jr. was riding his motorcycle on Route 1 when he was hit by a car driven by 37-year-old Kimberly Zoller. The collision occurred in front of 516 Boston Post Road. Barabas, Jr. was killed in the crash, while Zoller was taken to the hospital for treatment. After a thorough investigation of the case, an arrest warrant for Zoller was released yesterday, and she has since posted a bond. She is facing a charge of second-degree vehicular manslaughter, with her next court date scheduled for October 24.

In many cases, investigators have to spend months investigating incidents before making their conclusions. Their dedication cannot be overstated and is obviously important if culprits are to be brought to justice. As motorists, we also need to be aware of our options if ever we are involved in similar situations. We can talk to legal experts, and they can help us pursue options that can help us cope and find closure.

Enfield – Officials Looking For Hit-And-Run Suspect

Local authorities are still looking for a suspect involved in a recent crash in Enfield.

On September 29, an accident occurred on Route 190 (Hazard Road), just in front of Big Y. According to official reports, a car and a motorcycle collided in the area. The motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries and had to be transported to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the car fled the area and is still at large. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s and was driving a black Nissan Altima at the time of the crash. Authorities are asking anyone who may have info about the suspect to contact them as soon as possible.

In some cases, reports and information from witnesses can prove useful in identifying and apprehending crash suspect/culprits. As motorists plying various roads in the state, we can all contribute to make all roads safer for everyone. That said, we should also be aware of our legal rights when involved in road incidents. In cases where negligence has been identified, we may have the option to seek damages as deemed appropriate by legal experts.

Griswold – Fatal Motorcycle Crash

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Griswold last Tuesday morning.

At around 12:22 a.m., 28-year-old Isaac Watson, a resident of 625 Storrs Street, was riding his motorcycle north on Glasgow Road (Route 201) when his bike suddenly swerved off the roadway and crashed. Watson was thrown off his vehicle, fell on the ground and sustained critical injuries. He was pronounced dead at the crash site. According to officials, they have yet to collect evidence that points to the possible involvement of another vehicle. The crash remains under investigation and authorities are asking possible witnesses or anyone with information to contact them as soon as possible.

While there have been many cases of negligent drivers causing single-vehicle accidents in the past, there have also been cases of product/vehicle defects causing similar incidents. Because of these scenarios, it’s always the goal of crash investigators to sift through all available evidence to ensure that liability is accurately established. This will not only allow culprits to be brought to justice, but also enable accident victims to pursue legal opportunities that will help them find closure.

At approximately 7:25 p.m., 57-year-old Glenn Gondyke was riding his 1985 Harley Davidson when he collided with a 2013 Subaru Impreza, driven by 25-year-old Emma Lassy, near the intersection of Route 44 (Middle Turnpike) and Route 195 (Storrs Road). A motorcycle rider was seriously hurt when he collided with a car in Newtown last Friday evening.

A still-unidentified, 42-year-old man from Monroe was riding his 2002 Harley Davidson east on Berkshire Road (Route 34) when he collided with a 2015 Honda Civic traveling on Sherman Street. Hartford – Fatal Scooter Crash

A scooter rider died from crash injuries in Hartford yesterday.

The still-unidentified motorist was riding in the area of 81 Wethersfield Avenue when he collided with a car. The victim sustained critical injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead soon after. The driver of the second vehicle was apprehended and taken into custody by responding officers. The incident forced the closure of Wethersfield Avenue, between Wyllys and Annawan Streets, to allow investigators and cleanup crews to do their work. The identities of involved parties have yet to be disclosed by authorities pending an investigation. This post will be updated as soon as more information becomes available.

State and local officials are constantly thinking of ways to improve road safety for everyone. Identifying the causes of accidents and other road-related incidents is an important step towards that goal. Not only that, establishing liability can also benefit victims of accidents as it allows them to pursue avenues that can support them financially and help them find closure. Filing for damages/compensation is a good example.

Hartford police responded to the intersection of Francis Avenue and Hamilton Street after receiving reports of an accident in the area. According to officials, a motorcycle was involved in a crash that resulted in serious injuries. No word yet on the number of vehicles involved in the incident. In almost all cases, motorcycle crashes result in serious injuries. Identifying the causes of these accidents is imperative if future incidents are to be avoided. Of particular interest to crash investigators are reckless behavior, DUI and negligence. If any of these factors are established in these accidents, injured parties may have options they can pursue with their legal counsel, including filing for damages if appropriate.

Harwinton – Fatality In ATV Accident

An ATV rider was killed in a crash in Harwinton last Sunday.

At approximately 9:15 a.m., local officials responded to a forested area off Bissell Road after receiving reports of a found body. Upon arriving at the scene, officials discovered 61-year-old James Delevieleuse of Cheshire dead. According to an initial investigation of the incident, Delevieleuse was riding his ATV in the area when he crashed, sustaining critical injuries in the process. Officials have yet to discover any sign of another vehicle that might have been involved in the crash. The case is still under investigation, and local authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them as soon as possible.

In the absence of readily observable causes, authorities will look at less-obvious possibilities, including product/vehicle defects, when investigating incidents that result in injuries or deaths. Suffice it to say, establishing accountability/liability is their primary objective in these cases. Not only is this important to officials seeking justice, but also to victims (or their families) who have to make sense of these unfortunate situations and eventually find closure.
