Bristol – Driver Facing Assault Charges In Incident

A motorist is currently facing several charges after assaulting a pedestrian in Bristol.

64-year-old Robert Carroll was charged earlier this month and was just arraigned last Wednesday in connection with an August 17 incident where he injured a pedestrian. At around 7:00 p.m. that day, the 31-year-old victim was walking along Round Hill Road when a pickup truck driven by Carroll almost hit the pedestrian as it passed by. The man slapped the side of the truck with his hand to inform Carroll of his presence. Carroll stopped and left his vehicle, punching the pedestrian in the face. The victim sustained a broken nose in the assault. The suspect then walked back to his pickup truck and fled the scene. There were several witnesses in the area who were able to identify Carroll as the assailant. He is currently facing charges of second-degree breach of peace, second-degree criminal mischief, and third-degree assault. His next court date is on November 20.
