Stratford – Highway Truck Accident
A truck figured in a crash on the highway in Stratford late yesterday evening.
Authorities were alerted to the incident at around 10:09 p.m. and immediately sent responders to the southbound lanes of I-95. Emergency crews discovered a truck that crashed about a quarter of a mile before Exit 32 (Linden Avenue). The area was immediately cordoned off to allow medical personnel to assist motorists injured in the incident. No word yet on the number of vehicles involved in the crash, but a portion of the highway was blocked due to the accident. It took road crews about 50 minutes to clear the site of all obstructions. The accident is currently under investigation, and officials will release updates when appropriate.
It’s only appropriate for authorities to block off crash sites so that involved/injured parties can be assisted by medical personnel. It also allows investigators to collect evidence that can help officials establish accountability. That last point is particularly beneficial to victims of these incidents because it will allow them, under proper circumstances, to pursue legal options that can help them find closure post-accident.
