Stamford – Scooter Rider Injured After Car Hit
A man was arrested after he hit a scooter rider in Stamford last Wednesday.
At around 2:30 p.m., 50-year-old Sebastiano Peter Sciarretta of Newfield Avenue was driving his car towards the Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue intersection when he failed to concede right of way to a person riding a scooter. He crashed into the scooter, sending its rider flying from the vehicle. Injuries were reported because of the crash. The victim was immediately transported to Stamford Hospital for treatment. Sciarretta left the scene of the accident, reportedly driving towards Grenhart Road. He was eventually apprehended on Grove Street. Witnesses in the area were able to identify him as the suspect in the crash.
