Southington – Utility Pole Crash
A vehicle crashed into a utility pole in Southington yesterday evening.
At 6:45 p.m. Wednesday evening, a vehicle traveling on Sun Valley Drive veered off the road and crashed into a utility pole, breaking the structure and causing an outage that affected at least 20 customers. It’s not yet clear how many people were in the car at the time of the crash, but at least one person was taken to the Hospital of Central Connecticut by emergency responders. Repair crews from Eversource have since been requested on-site to fix the damaged pole, while other teams have since been tasked to clear the roadway. Officials have yet to identify anyone and are expected to release more info in due time.
Many road-related incidents can result in unexpected collateral damage and can affect more people than is immediately apparent.
