Southington – Interstate Accident

A nighttime accident blocked off a section of the interstate in Southington Sunday evening.

At approximately 8:36 p.m., authorities cordoned off a portion of I-84 East about half a mile before Exit 32 after an unspecified number of vehicles crashed in the area. Moderate damage and injuries were reported, and multiple fire and EMS teams responded to the scene to help affected motorists and to clear the site. No word yet on entrapment, DUI, or factors that may have led to the collision. All lanes were reopened at around 40 minutes later. Officials are expected to release more info about the accident in due time.

Highway collisions, particularly at night, have to be cleared as quickly as possible as these are extremely high-risk areas for both motorists and crash responders. Having said that, the discovery of negligence in any of these cases may allow injured parties to pursue legal claims against liable parties. Consulting legal experts is advised so that victims can be informed of avenues available to them.
