Southbury – Utility Pole Crash

A car crashed into a telephone pole in Southbury last Saturday.

At approximately 11:50 a.m., emergency crews responded to the area of 1266 Main Street South and discovered a car that had crashed into a utility pole. According to authorities, 57-year-old Arlene Casivant of Southbury lost control of her vehicle and swerved off the roadway. She sustained injuries in the collision and was transported by medical personnel to Saint Mary’s Hospital. Based on evidence already collated, no other vehicle was involved in the crash. The incident is still under investigation. Updates will be provided when they become available.

Officials investigating single-vehicle accidents without obvious causes will always look at product defects, among other factors, as possibilities.
