Shelton – Vehicle Crash With Entrapment
A vehicle crashed and fell down an embankment in Shelton Monday morning.
At around 7:00 a.m., a vehicle traveling near the intersection of Trolley Bridge and River Roads swerved off the roadway and fell down a steep embankment. The car then overturned before coming to a stop just short of the Housatonic River. Emergency teams arrived in the area just a few minutes later and started extrication. Firefighters and other road crews had to use improvised equipment to retrieve the trapped motorist as the vehicle was at the bottom of a steep incline and was not easily accessible.
