Shelton – Vehicle Crash With Entrapment

A vehicle crashed and fell down an embankment in Shelton Monday morning.

At around 7:00 a.m., a vehicle traveling near the intersection of Trolley Bridge and River Roads swerved off the roadway and fell down a steep embankment. The car then overturned before coming to a stop just short of the Housatonic River. Emergency teams arrived in the area just a few minutes later and started extrication. Firefighters and other road crews had to use improvised equipment to retrieve the trapped motorist as the vehicle was at the bottom of a steep incline and was not easily accessible. The victim has since been tended to by medical personnel. This incident is currently under active investigation, and officials will release more info in due time.
