Shelton – Highway Crash With Fatality
A motorist was killed in a highway crash in Shelton last Friday evening.
Authorities responded to reports of an accident on the southbound side of Route 8 and discovered a vehicle that had crashed near exit 12. According to officials, at approximately 6:15 p.m., a car with three occupants suddenly swerved off the highway, falling down an embankment before hitting a tree. The driver sustained critical injuries and was immediately transported by EMS crews to the hospital. One of the passengers sustained minor injuries, while the third occupant, identified as 20-year-old Jarvis Jones, was thrown off the vehicle and died in the hospital shortly after. A section of the highway was closed immediately following the incident but has since been reopened. The crash is currently under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them as soon as possible.
