Sharon – Motorcycle Crash With Two Victims
Two motorists were involved in a crash in Sharon last Saturday evening.
Authorities responded to reports of a crash on Route 41 (Amenia Union Road), just before Mitchelltown Road, and discovered a motorcycle that had crashed while going around a curved section of the roadway. 51-year-old John Morey from Amenia was riding with a passenger, 40-year-old Tanja Kraft, when their motorcycle veered off the road and crashed into a guardrail, throwing both riders off the bike. They sustained injuries in the crash and were immediately brought to the hospital by emergency crews. Morey was later pronounced dead due to his injuries, while Kraft was declared stable. The crash remains under investigation. Officials are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them as soon as possible.
Accidents involving motorcycles are investigated by authorities to eliminate negligence and reckless behavior as possibilities. This is noteworthy because if any of these are established, injured parties will have various legal options available to them, including the option of filing for damages/compensation.
