Plainville – Nighttime Highway Accident
State and local officials responded to a highway accident in Plainville early yesterday evening.
The incident was reported to authorities at approximately 6:20 p.m. Emergency responders were dispatched to I-84 West and discovered a crash about a quarter of a mile before Exit 33 (Route 72). Multiple teams have since arrived in the area to assist all motorists injured or otherwise affected by the crash. Road crews cleared the site less than an hour later, and the case is currently under investigation. No one has been identified yet and authorities will provide updates when appropriate.
Clearing crash sites is usually done very quickly while investigating the causes of these incidents typically takes more time. This is normal in light of the need for authorities to accurately establish accountability in all of these cases. Motorists exhibiting negligent behavior should be stopped from operating vehicles, while their victims/injured parties should be given ample opportunities to cope, both emotionally and financially.
