Orange – Senior In Fatal Crash Arrested

A senior driver was arrested last Saturday in connection with an accident in Orange that killed a pedestrian.

On March 25, 2019, 79-year-old Ramona H. Rubin was driving her 2015 Volkswagen Beetle on Derby Avenue (Route 34) when her vehicle slowly swerved to the right side of the roadway, hitting 45-year-old Steven Sylvester who just happened to be standing behind his parked truck. Sylvester sustained critical injuries in the incident and was pronounced dead shortly after. Rubin is now facing several charges related to the incident and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.

According to many state and local officials, it is not uncommon for accident suspects/culprits to be charged or arrested several months after the events they were involved in. That said, authorities will always exhaust all means to ensure that these people are brought to justice. Aggrieved parties involved in these unfortunate situations will also have options at their disposal that can help them find closure. Talking to a legal expert should be a good first step towards this goal.
