An accident occurred on the highway in Norwalk early yesterday evening.

At approximately 6:22 p.m., state and local officials were alerted to a crash on the westbound lanes of I-95. Emergency responders arriving at the scene discovered an accident that occurred about a quarter of a mile past Exit 15 (Route 7), resulting in injuries to an unspecified number of motorists. Paramedics were requested to the area, and it took road crews about 40 minutes to clear the scene of all obstructions, though everyone involved has since been accounted for and assisted by medical personnel. No word yet on the cause of the crash or the number of people involved. The incident is currently being investigated.
