Norwalk – Commercial Accident Victim Identified
Authorities have just identified the victim of last Tuesday’s workplace accident in Norwalk.
52-year-old Lorgio Jimenez-Suarez was working on the exterior facade of The SoNo Collection mall when, at approximately 2:30 a.m., he fell to the ground and died due to severe injuries. State and local officials are currently investigating the incident and have yet to discover any ill-intent or negligence that may have led to the accident. Construction work in this commercial property has not resulted in any fatality prior to last Tuesday’s incident, and authorities are now looking at whether or not safety practices or standards have been implemented throughout the various construction stages of the facility. Officials will release more info when appropriate.
There are state and federal agencies tasked with protecting the safety of all workers, particularly those in high-risk workplaces such as construction sites. Suffice it to say, negligence is not tolerated and, in its discovery, responsible parties must be made liable. It’s important to note that if ever we or our loved ones are injured in any workplace incident, consulting a legal expert would always be prudent.
