Newtown – Rush-Hour Highway Crash

Officials responded to reports of a highway crash in Newtown late yesterday afternoon.

At around 5:30 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the eastbound lanes of I-84 and discovered a vehicle accident near Exit 11 (Wasserman Way). The crash site was quickly cordoned off to allow responders to assist everyone injured in the incident. No word yet on the number of vehicles and people affected. It took a while for authorities to process and clear the site due to various circumstances involved. The accident site was cleared of all obstructions at approximately 7:00 p.m. The crash is currently under investigation. Updates will be provided as soon as authorities release more info.
