Newtown – Interstate Crash Witnesses Sought
Authorities are currently investigating a highway crash in Newtown last Thursday.
At around 6:30 p.m., 50-year-old Rajeev Sinha of Bethel was driving his 2006 Toyota Scion when he figured in a collision with a 2020 Volvo TR driven by 26-year-old Maninder Singh of California. The crash occurred on the westbound side of the interstate, just before Exit 9. Both vehicles incurred heavy damage in the collision, while both drivers were immediately tended to by responding EMS personnel. The investigation that followed couldn’t identify the cause of the crash. Witnesses have yet to come forward, while both drivers have provided conflicting statements that have hindered the investigation. Officials are currently encouraging possible witnesses to contact them as soon as possible.
It’s in these cases where info provided by witnesses can really make a difference in establishing accountability. Drivers exhibiting reckless or negligent behavior should be taken off the road to prevent them from hurting other motorists. That said, people who are injured in similar situations are advised to seek legal counsel so that they can be informed of their options, particularly in terms of filing for damages as this can help them cope and find closure.
