Newtown – Interstate Crash Victim Identified
Officials just identified the victim of last Wednesday’s interstate crash in Newtown.
At approximately 1:45 p.m. last Wednesday, 50-year-old Harold W. Gilligan of Springfield, Massachusetts was driving a 2011 Infiniti on I-84 East when the vehicle suddenly swerved off the highway and into a wooded area. Gilligan was the only occupant in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. As of posting time, there is still no evidence suggesting other vehicles were involved in the crash. The case is still under active investigation, and authorities will release more updates when appropriate.
These are, simply, unfortunate incidents and have to be investigated thoroughly so that accountability can be accurately established. Not only that, it’s also important that victims or their families are afforded opportunities to cope. Under appropriate circumstances, legal experts can also help aggrieved parties pursue claims that can help them find closure.
