Newtown – Highway Truck Crash
A motorist was seriously hurt when his truck crashed on the highway in Newtown early yesterday morning.
The incident occurred a few minutes before 4:00 a.m. on I-84. Fire and EMS crews quickly dispatched to the area and discovered a black GMC pickup truck that had collided with construction equipment on the Exit 11 (Wasserman Way) off-ramp. The vehicle incurred heavy damage in the collision, while the still-unidentified driver sustained serious injuries. The victim was also trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by responding firefighters. The crash is currently under investigation.
