Newtown – Highway Crash Victim Identified
Authorities just identified the victim of last Friday’s interstate crash in Newtown.
17-year-old Liam Declan Devine was driving a Mazda 6 on I-84 West when his vehicle suddenly veered off the highway near Exit 9 (Route 25). The car then entered a grassy roadside area before crashing into a tree and catching fire. Devine sustained critical injuries and died at the scene. There is still no indication that other vehicles were involved in the incident. Devine was a high school senior from Danbury. The case remains under active investigation. Witnesses are advised to contact authorities as soon as possible.
