New Haven – Highway Motorcycle Accident
A motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a highway crash in New Haven early yesterday morning.
The incident occurred on the northbound lanes of Route 15, near Exit 59. At around 5:45 a.m., 29-year-old Joao Maiolino was riding his 2009 Harley Davidson northbound on Route 15 when a car struck him. 41-year-old Kimberly Ann Slosek was driving her vehicle on the southbound side when she suddenly attempted to use an emergency u-turn slot. She struck Maiolino’s motorcycle when she entered the northbound lanes. Maiolino sustained serious injuries in the collision and was immediately transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital, while Slosek refused medical support. The crash is currently being investigated. Authorities are asking possible witnesses to contact them as soon as possible.
