New Canaan – Rollover Crash Fatality

A local man was killed in an accident in New Canaan last Sunday evening.

Authorities quickly dispatched emergency crews to Route 7 after an accident that occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. According to officials, 46-year-old Matthew Holderman was traveling north on Route 7 when his vehicle suddenly swerved to the right shoulder near Sand Road. The vehicle then struck several roadside structures before crashing into a utility pole and rolling over. Holderman sustained critical injuries in the crash and was trapped inside his vehicle. He was later pronounced dead. Officials are currently investigating the crash and are asking anyone who may have witnessed it to contact them as soon as possible.

As this case is still under investigation, we have yet to be presented with evidence suggesting another party/vehicle caused the crash. In road incidents with no immediately apparent causes, investigators will look at, among other factors, product defects as possible culprits. Suffice it to say, injuries caused by any form of negligence can enable victims to file for damages if deemed appropriate by legal experts.
