New Canaan – Fatal Pedestrian Incident Update
An update has been released regarding last Tuesday’s pedestrian accident in New Canaan.
An almost 2-year-old toddler was struck by a vehicle on a driveway on North Wilton Road. The victim was immediately transported by responders to Norwalk Hospital where he was given comprehensive care. The boy still died due to the severity of his injuries. The driver of the striking vehicle has since been accounted for, but authorities have yet to disclose the identities of anyone involved in the incident. Crash investigators from Wilton, New Canaan, and Darien are still collecting evidence and thoroughly studying the case. Updates will be provided as soon as they release more info.
Residents in the area where this incident occurred have been sympathetic to both the victim and the driver of the vehicle. Everyone is advised to be more careful, particularly in light of recent weather conditions across the state. Having said that, people involved in these traumatic events are encouraged to seek help, legal or otherwise. They are not alone and should be given opportunities to cope and find closure.
