Middletown – Rush-Hour Highway Accident
State and local officials responded to a highway incident in Middletown yesterday evening.
Emergency crews were dispatched to Route 9 North after authorities received reports of a crash that occurred about half a mile past Exit 12 (Bow Lane). Officials have yet to specify the number of vehicles and motorists affected by the incident, but injuries were reported and paramedics were requested on-site. Road crews worked quickly to clear the site to avoid rush-hour delays. It only took them less than half an hour to clear all lanes of the highway. This post will be updated as soon as authorities release more info.
Highway accidents during rush hours are inherently dangerous to both crash victims and emergency responders. These sites have to be processed and cleared quickly to avoid collateral effects such as delays and additional incidents. That said, causes/culprits must be accurately identified so that aggrieved parties may have the opportunity to pursue legal avenues that can help them cope and eventually find closure after these traumatic events.
