Meriden – Highway Truck Crash

Authorities responded to a truck crash in Meriden yesterday morning.

Emergency crews converged on the northbound side of Route 15 following reports of a crash at Exit 68W (on-ramp to I-691). According to officials, a truck swerved off the road and fell into an embankment, resulting in heavy damage and injuries. No word yet on the number of vehicles and motorists involved in the incident, but multiple fire and EMS teams were requested on-site. The accident forced the closure of Route 15 North to allow authorities to safely process and clear the site. The crash is currently under investigation. More details will follow.

Truck accidents frequently result in road blockages and serious injuries, making these incidents challenging for emergency crews to process. That said, authorities are constantly working on ways of preventing these crashes from occurring. Identifying their causes is an important step towards this objective. Doing this will allow officials to stop reckless or negligent individuals from hurting themselves or other people, as well as allowing aggrieved parties to file their own claims against these negligent suspects.
