Hartland – School Bus Accident With Injuries

A school bus carrying passengers crashed into a utility pole in Hartland last Tuesday morning.

According to local officials, the crash occurred at approximately 6:37 a.m. and was reported shortly after. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to Route 20 (Center Street) and found a school bus that had collided with a utility pole near West Street. A student sustained injuries in the incident and was immediately tended to by responding medics, while Eversource crews were called in to repair the damaged pole. No word yet on additional injuries sustained in the accident. Route 20 was temporarily closed following the incident, allowing authorities to survey the scene and collect evidence. The crash is still under investigation.

When single-vehicle accidents with no obvious causes occur, authorities will look at less-apparent possibilities, including product/vehicle defects. What’s important to note here is: whatever the outcome of these investigations, if officials discover any form of negligence, injured parties may have the option of filing for compensation/damages if deemed appropriate by legal experts.
