Hartford – Scooter Crash Update
The teen scooter rider who was hospitalized following a crash in Hartford last week has just died.
17-year-old Thalles Costa DeLima was riding a scooter and collided with a motorcycle at the intersection of New Park Avenue and Merrill Street. The victim sustained serious injuries in the crash and was immediately taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead yesterday afternoon. According to local officials, Hartford has seen a decrease in the number of road-related fatalities this past year but continues to work on improving road safety for everyone.
Authorities handling this case will continue to explore all possibilities in establishing accountability. The death of the victim only aggravates any case that will be filed against negligent parties. Under appropriate circumstances, it might also entitle the victim’s family to file for damages with the help of expert legal counsel.
