Hartford – Charges Filed After Fatal Injuries
A man involved in a fatal crash in Hartford was charged yesterday.
On February 21, 2019, 45-year-old Benjamin Andrade was driving a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Walnut and High Streets when he hit a vehicle driven by 77-year-old Carl Loven. Fatal injuries were sustained by Loven in the crash, and he died soon after. Andrade did not leave the scene and cooperated with authorities. Still, officials found enough evidence to charge Andrade with driving without a CDL, misconduct with a motor vehicle and failure to obey traffic signs.
This case is a clear example of how Connecticut laws value motorists’ safety. Under appropriate circumstances, and with the help of legal experts, injuries or deaths caused by negligence or reckless behavior can be strong grounds for granting damages/compensation to aggrieved parties.
