49-year-old Anthony Rock was driving his Dodge Grand Caravan south on Route 9 that evening when his vehicle suddenly swerved off the proper lane, crashing into the median and rolling over before coming to a stop. Rock sustained critical injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead soon after. Other vehicles were reportedly not involved in the incident. Road crews have since cleared the roadway of all obstructions, and officials are currently investigating the accident. This post will be updated as soon as more info becomes available.
This type of accident still occurs every now and then: vehicles that suddenly swerve off roadways and crash into various roadside structures, resulting in injuries and heavy damage. While some of these cases have been associated with driver negligence, others have been connected to vehicle failures/defects. Authorities are always expected to exhaust all means to accurately establish accountability in all cases. It’s important to take note of this because in cases where negligence is discovered, injured parties or the families of those killed may have the option of filing for damages if legal experts deem it appropriate.
