Griswold – Tanker Crash
A tanker crashed and rolled over in Griswold yesterday.
Emergency teams responded to the intersection of Route 201 (Hopeville Road) and Geer Road following reports of a crash in the area. State Police reported a tanker truck was traveling on Route 201 when it crashed into a utility pole and overturned, spilling its cargo (milk) over a wide area. The driver was shaken and complained of pain but refused to be hospitalized. Various agencies/departments have since arrived on-site to assess the crash and provide necessary support. Officials have yet to provide additional info and are expected to do so in due time.
It’s fortunate that this incident did not result in any environmental issue. That said, establishing liability remains the primary objective of this and other crashes. Negligence is of particular interest to aggrieved parties as the involvement of this factor may allow victims to explore and pursue legal avenues against liable parties.
