A multiple-vehicle crash resulted in heavy delays in Greenwich yesterday afternoon.
Authorities received reports of the crash and immediately dispatched fire and EMS crews to the northbound lanes of I-95 crossing Greenwich, between Exits 4 and 5. Three vehicles reportedly collided, resulting in the closure of the left and center lanes of the highway. Medical personnel quickly tended to those injured in the accident, while other crews immediately started cleanup operations. The incident scene was cleared by 4:00 p.m., though officials still advised motorists to avoid the area if possible. The crash is currently under investigation. Updates will be provided as they become available.
Highway accident sites are typically cleared faster than in other locations due to the heavy delays they may cause. That said, authorities will always focus on accurately identifying the causes of these incidents as doing this will help them make highway driving safer for everyone. On the other hand, injured parties can also file for damages against culprits as an important step in finding closure after these traumatic events. Talking to a legal expert should help them work towards this goal.
