Eastwood – Fatal Vehicle Crash
A motorist was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Eastwood last Saturday evening.
At approximately 10:40 p.m., 43-year-old David D. Frechette of Putnam was driving his 2010 Ford Fusion east on Route 44, near Route 198, when his vehicle suddenly swerved off the roadway, hitting a road sign before crashing into a utility pole. Frechette sustained critical injuries in the crash and was immediately transported to Day Kimball Hospital where he was eventually pronounced dead. The crash is still under investigation. Further updates will be released as they become available.
Single-vehicle accidents that don’t exhibit obvious causes have to be investigated for possible product defects as there have been instances in the past where these factors have resulted in accidents. That said, once authorities establish accountability, and if negligence is discovered, aggrieved parties can consult legal experts to determine their best course of action.
