Easton – Fatality In Head-On Collision

One motorist died and several others were injured in a head-on crash in Easton yesterday afternoon.

At around 5:30 p.m., emergency crews quickly responded to reports of a crash on Route 59 (Stepney Road), near the Monroe-Easton border, and discovered two vehicles involved in a head-on crash. Several victims had to be extricated from their vehicles. The driver of one vehicle sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Other victims were transported to St. Vincent Medical Center and Bridgeport Hospital for treatment. The crash closed a section of Route 59 for several hours. Officials have yet to disclose the identities of those involved pending an investigation. More details will be released when appropriate.
