East Hartford – Rush-Hour Vehicle Accident

Officials responded to a highway accident in East Hartford yesterday.

At approximately 4:51 p.m., authorities received reports of a crash on the eastbound lanes of I-84 and quickly sent responders to the area. According to reports, an unspecified number of vehicles was involved in an accident about a quarter of a mile past Exit 58 that resulted in injuries. The accident forced the closure of a portion of the highway — all lanes have since been cleared. Medical personnel have already assisted motorists affected by the incident, though officials have yet to identify anyone pending an investigation into the cause of the crash. This post will be updated as soon as authorities release more information.

Rush-hour accidents, particularly on highways, have to be cleared promptly to avoid collateral effects, such as heavy delays and the possibility of other collisions. Having said that, authorities will always focus on accurately identifying accident causes/culprits as quickly as they can. This can benefit aggrieved parties as establishing accountability could allow them to file for damages under appropriate circumstances and with the help of legal experts.
