Darien – Highway Crash With Multiple Injuries
A car crashed into a tree on the highway in Darien early Sunday morning.
Authorities received reports of the crash and dispatched fire and EMS crews to the Exit 10 off-ramp of I-95. According to responders, a vehicle with five occupants suddenly swerved off the roadway into a grassy field before crashing into a tree. The car, a Volkswagen Passat, sustained heavy damage, while all five motorists sustained serious injuries. 19-year-old Victor Emmanuel Deleon was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other passengers and the driver were taken to area hospitals for treatment. Authorities are currently investigating the incident and asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them as soon as possible.
Officials have yet to identify the cause of this crash and will continue to investigate until liability has been accurately established.
