Burlington – Fatal Injuries After Head-On Collision
A head-on collision resulted in serious injuries in Burlington last Thursday evening.
The accident occurred a few minutes before 10:00 p.m. on Route 4 (Spielman Highway) and involved two vehicles. A Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound along that route when it was hit by a Buick Century that apparently crossed lanes from its appropriate westbound route. Local officials quickly arrived at the scene and reported major damage to both vehicles. The driver of the Silverado was brought to UConn Hospital for treatment of injuries. The driver of the second vehicle (Century), 48-year-old Frederick Manka of Unionville, was also transported to UConn Hospital. Manka died in the hospital from serious injuries sustained in the accident. The case is still being investigated by officials.
