Bristol – Utility Pole Crash
A vehicle crashed into a pole in Bristol yesterday.
Local officials responded to Bristol Street after reports of a crash in the area came in. A 56-year-old motorist was driving on the roadway when his vehicle suddenly swerved and crashed into a utility pole. The victim sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead soon after. His identity has been withheld by authorities pending notification of family members. There is no indication that other vehicles were involved in the crash, though the incident is currently under investigation. Witnesses are encouraged to contact local officials as soon as possible.
As exemplified in this case, the causes of most single-vehicle accidents are not immediately apparent. Regardless, authorities are expected to investigate this and other incidents carefully until liability has been sufficiently established. This will allow the state and, under appropriate circumstances, victims to pursue legal avenues against responsible parties.
