Bridgeport – Shooting Incident Update

Authorities have identified the victim of last Tuesday’s shooting incident in Bridgeport.

Just before 4:00 p.m., reports came in of gunfire at the intersection of Newfield Avenue and Jefferson Street. Authorities did not receive any ShotSpotter notification from the area and dispatched emergency teams on-site. Responders found a man with multiple gunshot injuries and quickly transported him to the hospital for treatment. Officials have now identified the victim as Scott Bishop and he currently remains in serious condition. The incident is still under active investigation and authorities continue to encourage possible witnesses to contact them as soon as possible.
